The Codetalkers Project
A Documentary of Secret Heroism
This 29 minute film documents the unique perspective of being a Navajo soldier in World War II and the secret, yet vital role that Navajos played in the fight against Japan. This project was done under a Native language grant with Rehoboth Christian Middle School and relied heavily on student participation. The students interviewed various Codetalkers, and those interviews are utilized as the backbone of this film. Students also tried their hand at guided shooting, writing, editing, and narrating under close Glyph Engine direction. This clip shows the introduction. (2:51)
